Golf Shop Attendant

Job Title

The purpose of this class within the organization is to ensure all guests of the Dogwood Trace Golf Shop are greeted in a friendly manner and are provided courteous service. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Essential Functions

Establishes excellent customer relations and ensures the highest quality of customer service to the golfing public. Enforces all rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf carts and other golf facilities. Maintains product levels on the sales floor and organizes displays. Answers phones and sets schedules for tee time and assigns equipment. Oversees online social media. Maintains and cleans building. Performs related work as assigned.

Judgment Requirements: Responsible for very few decisions, affecting only the individual; works in a very stable environment with clear and uncomplicated written/oral instructions. Complexity of Work: Performs routine work using common sense; requires little attention for accurate results. Impact of Errors: The impact of errors is minor affects only those in immediate work area. Physical Demands: Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations. Equipment Usage: Handles or uses computers, tools, golf ball pickers or work aids involving little or no latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items. Unavoidable Hazards: Bright/dim light; dusts and pollen extreme heat and/or cold; wet or humid conditions; extreme noise levels, animals/wildlife vibration; fumes and/or noxious odors traffic; moving machinery. Safety of Others: Requires no responsibility for the safety and health of others.

Qualifications

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Requires some retail and public contact experience preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the position. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work. Final applicants will be required to submit to a criminal history investigation and submit to urinalysis screening for illegal drug use. Employees in this position are subject to random drug testing.
