This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing & Operations Team in the Quality Organization. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems, and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Developing and improving manufacturing processesPerforming cause and corrective action activities to permanently eliminate defectsWorking with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planningPreparing and presenting technical presentations to manufacturing team leadership, and to the customers for review and approval of process and manufacturing concepts and changesPerforming table top reviewsUsing Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to ensure process control and identify opportunities to reduce process varianceDeveloping and incorporating process improvementsTroubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutionsSupporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling, equipment, facilities and processesProvide input and manufacturing expertise to the end product design process to ensure efficient and effective manufacturabilityWork closely with touch labor to ensure manufacturing process results in safe and reliable space and defense productsOther duties as assignedThis position can be filled at either a Level 1 or Level 2. Basic Qualifications for Level 1:Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 0 years of professional experience.Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearanceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain eligibility and access to Special Access and/or Controlled Access Programs. Approval must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe, as determined by the company, to meet business needs.Experience in Lean Manufacturing TechniquesProcess Controls (SPC)Interpreting blue prints and specificationsTroubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutionsBasic Qualifications for Level 2:Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience.Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearanceExperience in Lean Manufacturing TechniquesProcess Controls (SPC)Interpreting blue prints and specificationsTroubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutionsPreferred Qualifications:Degrees in Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing EngineeringHave an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higherExperience working with energetic materials and processesExperience writing shop planningNorthrop Grumman Total Rewards Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
