Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides expert nursing care to maternal and newborn patients, ensuring comfort and safety. The role involves collaboration with healthcare team members and cross-training to support Med Surg/EICU units as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' conditions through detailed histories and clinical evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient.
• Monitor labor progression and manage interventions such as induction and cervical ripening.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, and uterine rupture.
• Perform fetal heart monitoring and neonatal assessments, including resuscitation and recognition of sepsis.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and educate patients on newborn care and postpartum topics.

Qualifications:

• Earned a two-year nursing degree; four-year degree preferred.
• Hold and maintain an active Wisconsin RN license.
• Complete AHA BLS certification within 1 month of hire and NRP within 6 months.
• Achieve STABLE and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications within 1 year.
• Demonstrate exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and clinical judgment.
