The role requires a detail‑oriented, organized individual who can manage purchasing activities for inventory, supplies, and capital equipment. Qualifications College degree with a major in business, or equivalent combination of experience and training. 5+ years of experience in a purchasing role. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people. Strong attention to detail, good reasoning skills, and the capacity to multitask. Excellent organizational skills. Job Duties Effectively purchase inventory, supplies, and capital equipment for the company. Receive purchase requisitions and verify for accuracy and authorization. Source new vendors when necessary. Prepare and issue purchase orders; determine and negotiate prices, delivery and credit terms; buy according to company policies and procedures; maintain accurate purchasing records. Evaluate and select vendors based on capabilities, performance, and consistent quality assurance. Maintain rapport and good working relationships with vendors; keep accurate vendor records. Consider inventory reorder levels and quantity‑price breaks to identify the most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies relative to the company’s cost of capital. Prepare monthly reports and review purchasing commitments with the President. Expedite purchase orders as necessary and ensure delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted production flow.
