Desired Start Date: 08/26/2026 School Psych Central Eval Annual Position FLSA: Exempt FTE: 1.00000 , Hours/Day: 8.000 , Days/Year: 185 Salary Plan, Grade, Step: JCE - Professional - 185 days , L01, 1 Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $56,085.00 - $75,142.00 Effective as of: 08-16-2025 Compensation schedules for Jeffco Schools can be found here. Starting salary for non-licensed roles is based on the candidate's relevant work experience and education. Additional considerations may be given for job-specific certifications and skills. RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY: Conduct initial social emotional and cognitive evaluations as part of a district-level team. Apply principles, methods, and procedures for an analysis of social, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine special education eligibility and/or the need for mental health related services. Provide intervention strategies and resources related to social, emotional, and behavioral needs that adversely affect an individual's educational performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Use research-based and technically sound practices to drive decision-making and interventions; and collaborate with school personnel and parents in order to inform special education eligibility and IEP programming decisions. Collaborate with school-based SPED mental health providers and IEP teams. Utilize culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment protocols. Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments that are relevant to the presenting concern regarding overall social, emotional, behavioral needs. Manage time, organize material, and communicate with school teams, building, and central administrators to effectively manage individual student assessment; engage in problem solving processes with a variety of school-based teams. Share knowledge with individuals and groups concerning social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development. Advocate for the individual's social, emotional, behaviors needs across a variety of settings, with a specific emphasis on supporting inclusive opportunities. Develop and/or participate in professional learning activities to maintain a high standard of service delivery. Comply with Special Education Services and district policies and procedures (e.g., Medicaid billing, accident reporting). Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE 3 years working as a Psychologist following the completion of degree programs, experience as a School Psychologist preferred. EDUCATION AND TRAINING Masters or specialist degree in school psychology from an accredited College or University. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS Valid Colorado Special Services Provider license with endorsement as a School Psychologist required. DORA (Department of Regulatory Agency) license preferred. NCSP Certification preferred. Bilingual Spanish-English communication skills preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships and function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with others and independently as appropriate. Willingness to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of clients and the district. Ability to integrate educational theory, research, and expertise into appropriate practices for local contexts, in a style that facilitates positive change and continuous improvement. Must have effective group facilitation skills. Ability to use data to make educationally sound decisions. Knowledge of best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment; and of applicable rules and laws that govern educational decisions. Ability to read and interpret documents; write reports and correspondence; apply appropriate mathematical concepts; and to use and integrate technology appropriately in daily work which includes, but is not limited to, efficient voice mail systems, application of basic computer skills to effectively use e-mail, internet, word processing, and write IEP's. The physical requirements, mental requirements and work environment factors described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to travel between schools/sites served. Normal routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking; and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can not always be anticipated. Ability to lift and carry equipment, such as large test kits, up to 35 pounds. MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to analyze complex situations, identify potential risks, and devise effective solutions. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other teams. Ability to manage time and priorities to meet deadlines. High level of accuracy in recalling and interpreting policies, protocols, and best practices. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and maintain professional demeanor while dealing with stressful or sensitive situations. Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules, unexpected crises, and changes in school policies or procedures. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a semi-secured office building with a typical office environment and risk factors. May visit both elementary and secondary school sites. Typical elementary school building may also contain libraries, computer labs, and kitchens. Typical secondary school campus may also contain libraries, science labs, computer labs, kitchens, auditoriums, gymnasiums & athletic fields, and possibly specialized shops. May be exposed to outside elements during travel between campuses and offices.
