Loss Mitigation Specialist

Company Overview Selene Holdings is a multi‑line business financial services firm with a mortgage servicing company, a loan diligence company, a title company, an insurance brokerage, and a real‑estate‑owned company. We have office locations in Dallas, TX; Jacksonville, FL; and Salt Lake City, UT. Founded in 2007 to address needs in the mortgage industry, Selene strives to provide amazing client and borrower experiences. Position Summary The Loss Mitigation Specialist has proven mastery of the requirements of the position. It will act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and is assigned a portfolio of non‑performing assets to contact, negotiate, and complete loss‑mitigation alternatives to minimize foreclosure losses. The role handles specialty functions within the SPOC department such as liquidation outcomes, bankruptcy customers, and high‑value customers. Schedule Weekdays: 11a‑8p, Monday – Thursday Friday: 8a‑5p Saturdays: 1‑2 days per month, 8a‑12 (overtime/no flex) Training: Monday‑Friday, 8a‑5p EST Essential Duties and Responsibilities Contribute to department progress by understanding success metrics and positively impacting them. Meet monthly individual and team goals and KPIs. Handle a portfolio of multiple mortgage products that are 90+ days delinquent or requesting loss mitigation, minimizing foreclosure loss through loss‑mitigation options. Work with non‑traditional workouts such as Short Sales and Deeds‑in‑Lieu and high‑risk customers. Receive inbound calls and make outbound calls to customers, attorneys, realtors, and other authorized parties to educate them on options. Discuss customers’ requirements for loan modifications, short sales, deeds in lieu, cash for keys, and consents to judgment or other loss‑mitigation options. Analyze financial situations; recommend and initiate the proper loss‑mitigation tool. Conduct light skip‑tracing activities. Review title searches to ensure no title issues threaten investor lien. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Review and update daily reports and accounts. Qualifications Excellent attention to detail. Ability to multi‑task and consistently meet multiple deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to use good judgment. Strong consulting and advising customer communication skills via telephone and written communication. Competencies Adaptability – Adapts to changes and manages competing demands. Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities, gives and welcomes feedback. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred. Two to four years of related experience and/or training required. GSE loss mitigation experience preferred, with emphasis on FHLMC and FNMA loss mitigation. Computer Skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Previous experience with MSP, Black Knight/LPS, and Sagent preferred.
