Senior Project Manager

We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Project Manager to support our Southwest Region located in Bossier City, LA .

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, 10 years of experience in transportation infrastructure development and construction.

What you'll be doing:

• Hold the Consultant's leadership role for the project
• Directly support Owner's project leadership to enable successful on-time and on-schedule delivery of the projects/tasks
• Responsible for management and oversight of the Project/Tasks, including coordinating with stakeholders and meeting all Federal requirements
• Represent the team on technical discussions and has the technical knowhow to discuss and resolve technical issues
• See the project's "big picture" beyond engineering and construction requirements, and understands their interface with the project's objectives
• Ability to act decisively and timely to ensure DOT's schedule responsibilities are met
• Ability to balance technical constraints, policy goals, and stakeholder needs to recommend optimal solutions to difficult issues
• Coordinate with multiple agencies and local jurisdictions to provide timely information sharing, win-win solutions, and ultimately obtain project support
• Coordinate with community and business stakeholders to provide timely information, receive productive input, and responsive issue resolution

What you need to have:

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure development and construction
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Bonus points if you have:

• Professional Engineer license in LA
• Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater utility coordination, conflict resolution, and relocation design for transportation projects
• Demonstrated knowledge of public policy and business practices related to transportation issues
• Demonstrated familiarity with DOT and FHWA policies and procedures
• Demonstrated skill in maneuvering through complex political situations with sensitivity to how people and organizations function, as well as, negotiating and leading discussions to reach positive outcomes
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience to manage, coordinate, and oversee multiple projects/tasks in order to meet on-time, on-budget, high quality business objectives
