Job Title: Plant EHS Manager (Manufacturing Operations)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Plant EHS Manager to lead the environmental, health, and safety programs for our manufacturing facility. You will be the on-the-ground leader responsible for fostering an autonomous safety culture, ensuring strict legislative compliance, and driving risk-reduction initiatives.
This is not a "desk-based" role. You will spend a significant amount of time on the plant floor, coaching teams, conducting audits, and partnering with plant leadership to integrate safety into every facet of our manufacturing process. If you are a collaborative, "boots-on-the-ground" leader who can influence change without direct authority and thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Compliance
• Program Stewardship: Own the implementation of site-wide safety standards, health programs, and environmental compliance initiatives. Lead joint EHS committee meetings and serve as the primary liaison for regulatory inspections.
• Risk Management: Conduct routine facility audits and risk assessments. Utilize data-driven methods to identify hazards, prioritize corrective actions, and track the effectiveness of risk mitigation projects.
• Incident Investigation: Lead thorough root-cause investigations into workplace accidents or near-misses. Develop actionable prevention plans to ensure incident-free operations. Culture & Training
• Behavioral Safety: Promote an autonomous safety culture where every employee is an active participant. Facilitate high-impact training programs that move beyond compliance to true safety ownership.
• Coaching & Mentoring: Provide interactive, field-based coaching to employees at all levels. Influence site leadership on EHS-related objectives and ensure project teams incorporate safety by design during the commissioning of new equipment.
• Administrative Operations: Maintain meticulous documentation, including regulatory permits, safety training records, and environmental data. Oversee EHS budget targets and workers' compensation/return-to-work coordination. Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Associate's degree or equivalent technical certification.
• Experience Baseline: 3-5+ years of experience in an EHS role, specifically within an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of OSHA regulations, health/safety standards, and environmental permitting.
• Professional Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to manage digital EHS tracking/reporting systems. Preferred Attributes
• A "Participative Leader" style-you are comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, and temperature variations) and are effective at influencing team members across all shifts.
• Proven ability to analyze safety data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
