Transportation Project Manager

Our client, a consulting engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Municipal Transportation Project Manager for its Tulsa office. This leadership position manages the planning, design, and delivery of municipal transportation infrastructure projects while building strong relationships with local governments, state agencies, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage municipal transportation projects from concept development through final design and construction
• Prepare and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
• Monitor project performance, including budget tracking, invoicing, and financial management
• Direct multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subconsultants
• Lead design of urban and rural roadway improvements, arterial widening, intersection and corridor improvements, ADA compliance, sidewalk, trail, and pedestrian facilities, traffic calming and safety enhancements, and streetscape projects
• Oversee roadway geometrics, drainage design, utility coordination, and maintenance of traffic planning
• Develop construction plans, specifications, quantity estimates, and cost estimates
• Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients and public agencies, and represent the firm at client meetings, public involvement meetings, and stakeholder presentations
• Provide technical oversight and quality control reviews, and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
• Support project pursuits and business development efforts in the municipal transportation market

Education and Certifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma or the ability to obtain Oklahoma licensure through reciprocity

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in transportation and municipal engineering design
• Demonstrated experience managing municipal infrastructure and transportation projects
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation design criteria and permitting requirements
• Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

Preferred:

• 10+ years of transportation engineering and project management experience
• Experience with municipalities and counties in Eastern Oklahoma and ODOT
• Established relationships with municipal clients in the Tulsa metro area
• Experience supporting business development, proposal preparation, and client growth
