Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move! Primary Duties Assist the physician in procedures such as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies. Scan patients, mark bodies, determine angles for puncture, assist as necessary, and maintain sterile technique. Generate computer images or film through automatic processing and evaluate quality. Communicate and document patients’ clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and computerized report formats. Maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients. Secure and return supplies such as film, linens, medicine, and patient folders. Select and operate equipment as directed; select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2 years diagnostic or ultrasound experience, or graduation from an accredited ultrasound program (registry eligible) with certification in Diagnostic Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 year. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Certification in Diagnostic Sonography by ARDMS within 1 year preferred.
