Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12 hour schedule (18:45 - 07:15). Must work every other weekend.

Job Description

The MedSurg/Neuro unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. The unit cares primarily for stroke patients along with other neuro diagnoses, including post-operative neurosurgery patients. The RN will participate in providing patient care, with a focus on critical neuro-related conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data and dysrhythmias.
• Provide care for stroke and neuro patients, including those with epilepsy and brain injuries.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient care planning.
• Float to other MedSurg/Telemetry areas as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct MedSurg experience.
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts.
• Current BCLS, NIHSS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start.
• Valid NC or compact state RN license.
