Quick Facts Location: St. Louis, MO Start Date: 08/24/2026 End Date: 11/23/2026 Shift: Day, 5x8-Hour (06:00 - 18:30) Hours per Week: Approximately 40 Employment Type: Contract License/Certs: MO license, BLS required; RNFA preferred Experience: Minimum 2 years of adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Pay & Benefits Hourly Rate: $167.70 Benefits: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time per law Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do Assist in adult cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and ascending aortic surgeries Support emergent procedures such as dissections and redo sternotomies Collaborate with a team of cardiac surgeons and intensivists in a hospital setting Operate and manage specialized equipment like the Maquet EVH System Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care processes Respond to on-call duties as scheduled, including overnight and weekend rotations Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR software What You Need Required: Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery or equivalent experience MO medical license BLS certification Minimum 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Preferred: RNFA certification Experience with advanced cardiac procedures Strong teamwork and communication skills About the Assignment Join a dynamic, academic hospital environment where you will support a cardiac surgery unit performing over 500 pump cases annually.
