GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for translating business data needs into data warehousing and reporting solutions through close collaboration with business teams to identify business requirements enabling data driven decision making throughout the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cover all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle with respect to data warehousing and reporting solutions, including requirements analysis, report content identification and functionality analysis, SDLC documentation, and recommended designs/solutions. Determine and recommend reporting enhancements or improvements for existing and new processes using enterprise business intelligence tools to enhance analysis capability or operational efficiency across business units. Document business requirements (BRDs) and functional design specifications (FRDs) for conversions, interfaces, and reports. Drive efficient solution discussions and stakeholder review meetings between business and IT. Identify functional gaps and improvement opportunities. Coordinate and drive issue resolution with cross‑functional teams during design and development. Work closely with users to define and document use cases, scenarios, and test scripts. Prepare and execute test plans to ensure solutions/designs meet business requirements. Create documentation for processes, training, and operational support. Ensure requirements are delivered in timely stages to enable design and development progress. Maintain understanding of state and federal laws related to credit union compliance, including bank secrecy and anti‑money laundering laws applicable to the position. Ensure solutions follow established guidelines. Research, define, and evaluate data requirements and specifications for departmental projects. Perform evaluations of data and data structures from disparate systems and seek opportunities to improve business processes through data analysis and analytics. Mentor and train other Business Systems Analysts as needed. Act as liaison between business clients and technical staff throughout project lifecycles. Stay current with technology trends, solutions, and vendors. Perform other job‑related duties as necessary.

Effective oral and written communication skills. Occasional local, statewide, and inter‑state travel may be required. Periodically work extended and weekend hours. Ability to work under pressure. Manual dexterity for standard office equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. Experience: 7–10 years progressive experience in business requirements analysis and data analysis. High intermediate to expert SQL skills; experience with data modeling, quality analysis, and report development. Knowledge/Skills Proficient in SQL, TSQL, PSQL, or Excel. Ability to analyze data in complex models independently. Scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Perl. Excellent analytical and technical skills across IT technologies. Strong problem‑solving skills. Technical acumen and non‑technical communication. Project and program management capabilities. Proven experience executing system and integration testing. Proficient in requirements definition, evaluation, and documentation. Excellent planning and organization. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, influencing technical and non‑technical parties. Ability to work with technical and business teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Carry and respond to a cell phone daily; occasional travel to sites. Prolonged sitting. Manual dexterity for computer hardware, software, and tools. Correct vision and hearing; a telephone device may be provided. Occasional bending, stooping, standing on a stepladder. Lifting up to 50 pounds.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
