Teacher in Residence (TIR)

Job Details Job Location: Administration - Orlando, FL 32817 Salary Range: $16.00 - $17.00 Hourly Job Category: Education Job Summary As a Teacher-in-Residence (TIR), you will be immersed in a full-time classroom experience within an inclusive school environment, working closely with students with exceptional needs. This internship is designed for ESE education majors beginning their official internship period at their college or university. Under the supervision of an experienced ESE teacher, you will assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adaptive teaching strategies, and inclusive classroom practices to ensure all students receive equitable learning opportunities. This role provides valuable hands‑on experience in supporting diverse learners and collaborating with general education teachers in an inclusive setting. This paid position offers valuable classroom experience while supporting completion of your university degree. Job Responsibilities Assist in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that support diverse learning needs. Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that values student diversity. Support universal design for learning (UDL) principles and inclusive instructional practices. Work with small groups and individual students, including those with disabilities, to reinforce learning objectives. Observe and implement evidence-based strategies for academic and behavioral support. Assist in classroom management, providing proactive support to ensure student engagement. Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and co‑teaching experiences. Collaborate with general education and ESE teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote inclusive education best practices. Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Training: 3 years of college related credit; ESE Education major beginning official internship period. Minimum Experience: Preferred experience supporting students of all abilities in team‑based settings through work or service learning.
