West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Departmentof Pediatrics seek an Adolescent Medicine physician (ranksavailable: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor).The successful candidate will be expected to practice inMorgantown, WV. Duties: The successful candidate will join our group of twoadolescent medicine physicians, including full-time clinical andcombination clinical-research faculty with funding through NIH andprivate funding mechanisms. Clinical responsibilities will include seeing adolescent and youngadult patients with duties that focus on the general adolescentclinic. In addition to providing excellent patient care, thesuccessful candidate will also be actively involved in the teachingof medical students and residents. Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree orforeign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.Successful candidate must have completed a pediatrics,medicine/pediatrics, or family medicine residency program.Candidates that have completed an adolescent medicine fellowshipprogram are preferred but not required. Our 150 bed Golisano Children’s Hospital has a full suite ofpediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterizationlab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicatedpediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatricbeds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, Heart Center, and a dedicatedCancer Center. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 PediatricTrauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adultscurrently. There is also a Birthing Center including a 30-bedobstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. RubyMemorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with apediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoringunit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospitalin the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
