Maintenance Planner

Position Overview Ascent Aviation Services, a global aviation maintenance and repair operation, is recruiting a Maintenance Planner for a 24/7 schedule. Candidates will support bid work, maintenance planning, scheduling, and workflow development for aircraft maintenance visits. The role requires flexibility to work standard day shifts, second shift, weekend and 12‑hour shifts as operational needs dictate. Duties / Responsibilities Assist in digital data gathering to aid bid work for future maintenance projects. Enter customer work‑scope specifications into the ERP system. Prepare work packages for operations, including assembling work cards, sorting, printing, and other administrative tasks. Identify, gather, and sort required technical data from aircraft maintenance manuals. Retrieve and sort airworthiness directives, service bulletins, engineering orders, and other documentation from governmental and manufacturer portals. Load and set up project control booths. Perform essential Production Control Administrator duties as needed. Carry out additional duties assigned by the Planning Manager. Required Skills and Abilities Excellent cross‑functional teamwork, collaborative problem‑solving, and strong written and verbal communication. Ability to lead, work independently, and as part of a team. Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or post‑secondary education/training in aircraft maintenance, or equivalent experience. Valid driver’s license. Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English instructions. Preferred Qualifications Strong attention to detail and mathematical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; office administration background a plus. At least 2 years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning at an MRO or similar industry. A&P license. Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods. Frequent walking, climbing, lifting, bending, reaching to shoulder level, and carrying or pulling up to 50 pounds. Requires eye‑hand coordination, manual dexterity, and normal corrected vision and hearing. Equipment Operated ERP systems and Excel for tracking. Office machines, servers, 3‑D printers, label printers, handheld devices. Working Conditions Office environment within an aircraft hangar, computer rooms, and various departments across the facility. Other Duties Ability to work at Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management. Safety Management System (SMS) Requirements Perform work in accordance with company policies and government regulations to protect life and resources. Participate in safety education programs and report hazards promptly. Notify supervisors of unsafe actions or conditions and take immediate action to address incidents.
