Foodservice Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Foodservice Consultant to join our team at AMCON Distributing Company. As a Foodservice Consultant , you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to foodservice-forward customers in the convenience industry. They will work closely with the local branch foodservice-forward customers and local branch operations to ensure efficient ordering, delivery, and inventory management of food and beverage products. The Foodservice Consultant will serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers, providing guidance and recommendations on product selection, menu planning, and industry trends. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the foodservice category within the convenience and/or QSR industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Customer Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with foodservice-forward customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on product selection, menu development, and best practices.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and requests, ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
  • Connect regularly with customers to assess their needs and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
2. Order Management and Processing
  • Collaborate to accurately capture and process orders, ensuring product availability and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams, including purchasing and logistics, to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
  • Proactively communicate any potential delays or issues related to order fulfillment and work towards resolution.
3. Product Knowledge and Training
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food and beverage products, including ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Conduct customer product training sessions, ensuring comprehensive understanding of available offerings.
  • Provide recommendations on product substitutions or alternatives to accommodate customer preferences or inventory availability.
4. Inventory Management and Analysis
  • Monitor customer usage patterns to anticipate product needs and recommend appropriate reorder quantities.
  • Collaborate with customers to customize inventory management solutions.
  • Analyze sales data and feedback to identify opportunities for product assortment optimization and improvement.
5. Sales Support and Business Development
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and support customer acquisition efforts.
  • Attend industry trade shows and events, to represent the company and build relationships with potential customers.
  • Provide input and feedback to the sales team on customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
  • Proven experience in the foodservice industry, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage products, including culinary trends and preparation techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software for order management and customer relationship management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned market as required.
  • Certifications: Food Handler's Certificate & ServSafe Certification
