Job description:

\n

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Cloud Engineer to help build, govern, and expand a large-scale global Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

\n

This role is part of a Public Cloud Engineering team focused on improving cloud maturity, enabling resilient cloud-native applications, delivering secure and compliant cloud solutions, and reducing time to market.

\n

The ideal candidate is a strong cloud engineer who remains highly hands-on, writes code regularly, and has deep experience with GCP, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, Git/GitOps, automation, cloud governance, and cloud-native architecture.

\n

What You'll Do

\n

 Build and enhance tools used to govern and manage a large-scale global GCP environment.

\n

 Develop enterprise-grade cloud automation and self-service capabilities for internal engineering teams.

\n

 Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions, primarily using Terraform.

\n

 Apply Git and GitOps practices to cloud infrastructure and automation.

\n

 Help engineering teams design and build resilient, scalable cloud-native applications.

\n

 Establish cloud platforms that are secure, compliant, cost-effective, observable, and easy for

\n

development teams to adopt.

\n

 Build and improve CI/CD and cloud automation capabilities.

\n

 Support cloud governance, observability, security, and operational best practices.

\n

 Troubleshoot complex cloud and production issues.

\n

 Evaluate emerging cloud-native and open-source technologies and incorporate appropriate best

\n

practices.

\n

 Collaborate with engineering teams to continuously improve cloud capabilities and standards.

\n

 Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across cloud initiatives.

\n

Qualifications:

\n

 Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

\n

 Approximately 10+ years of recent hands-on experience as a cloud architect or engineer in public cloud environments.

\n

 Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

\n

 Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

\n

 Strong knowledge of Git, GitOps, CI/CD, and enterprise automation.

\n

 Hands-on programming/scripting experience with the ability to write code regularly.

\n

 Experience building enterprise-grade cloud automation toolsets.

\n

 Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and application architecture.

\n

 Experience designing cloud platforms with security, compliance, scalability, reliability, and cost

\n

optimization in mind.

\n

 Knowledge of modern cloud governance and observability practices.

\n

 Experience building self-service cloud capabilities for engineering teams.

\n

 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

\n

 Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor other senior engineers.
