Warehouse Worker / Local Delivery Driver This role combines warehouse operations with local delivery driving for a busy contract manufacturing shop that serves a large base of nearby customers. You will safely operate a Ford box truck on short routes, typically within 30 miles, while providing friendly and professional customer service. In addition to making timely deliveries and pickups, you will load and unload your own truck, assist with shipping activities, and help track inventory in the warehouse. Responsibilities Drive a Ford box truck on local routes, generally within a 30-mile radius, to pick up and deliver customer orders. Provide courteous and professional customer service during all interactions at customer locations. Load and unload the truck independently, handling materials and products safely and efficiently. Lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Use maps or routing tools to plan efficient delivery routes and maintain an organized schedule. Ensure deliveries are completed on time and in the correct sequence, staying on track with daily routes. Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, and organize materials as needed in the warehouse. Assist the shipping and warehouse departments with tasks such as picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment. Participate in tracking and counting inventory to maintain accurate stock records. Follow all safety procedures while driving, operating equipment, and working on the shop floor. Essential Skills Experience driving box trucks or similar commercial vehicles for local deliveries. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers. Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. Proficiency using maps or routing tools to plan and follow delivery routes. Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting. General warehouse skills, including material handling, loading, unloading, and basic shipping tasks. Ability to work safely and effectively in a machine shop and warehouse environment. High school education. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or machine shop environment. Familiarity with basic inventory tracking and counting processes. Strong time-management skills to maintain delivery schedules and support warehouse operations. Attention to detail when handling customer orders and documenting inventory. Reliability and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently throughout the day. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
