We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse with RECENT INFUSION EXPERIENCE who can assist in the infusion suite of our private-practice rheumatology office. This position will be part-time, with occasional PRN requests as needed for patient accommodation. This will include managing patient infusions in our in-office infusion suite, documenting infusion encounters, monitoring medication inventory, and responding to infusion-related questions. Due to the reduced office schedule, this Infusion Nurse MUST have prior infusion experience and be able to learn and adapt quickly to the demands of this position.

Essential responsibilities

• Manage six-chair infusion schedule.
• Perform infusions and injections for biologic medications such as Rituxan, Remicade, Simponi Aria, Krystexxa, Cimzia, and Evenity with full documentation of office note for these procedures.
• Assist as needed with infusions for clinical research study patients.
• Track benefit investigation and prior authorization status of infused medications.
• Monitor and record biologic medication inventory and infusion supplies.
• Provide medication information and resources to patients and their families.
• Document infusions, patient conversation and task updates in EMR with appropriate detail.
• Ensure patient records are kept up to date including documentation of phone conversations, documents sent or received, task updates, and provider changes to therapy
• Provide backup for IM injections, patient intake, and other medical assistant duties as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance.

Education

• Required current NC Licensed Practical Nurse
• Experience performing infusions in multi-chair setting is required
• Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience
