Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated Material Handling Equipment (MHE). This includes conveyor systems, sortation systems, scales, and printers. You will repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and AC/DC electrical motors, drives, belts, chains, guides, bearings, rollers, and pulleys. Additionally, you will inspect, calibrate, and replace electrical components such as photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, and tachometers. You will also conduct routine maintenance on auxiliary facility equipment, including Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), HVAC systems, air compressors and dryers, balers, and basic plumbing systems.
Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated material handling and facility equipment to ensure high availability and operational readiness.
• Utilize preventive and predictive maintenance processes to rapidly restore equipment functionality.
• Diagnose low-voltage circuits and electronic components using multi-meters, infrared thermometers, job plans, and electrical schematics.
• Log work orders in the asset management system via handheld devices, capturing accurate labor hours, downtime, root cause, resolution, and spare parts used.
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks and service vehicles within the interior, exterior yard, and between local facilities or stores to procure necessary parts and supplies.

Essential Skills

• Experience in automation, troubleshooting, maintenance technician roles, electrical and mechanical repair.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing low-voltage circuits and electronic components.
• Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot/cold temperature changes, concrete floors, and exposure to odors, dust, and mechanical/electrical/chemical hazards.

Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to hot and cold temperature changes, concrete floors, and potential mechanical/electrical/chemical hazards. Shifts are available as follows: 1st Shift - Tues-Fri 5am - 3:30pm, 2nd Shift - Mon-Thur 4pm - 2:30am, Weekend Shift - Sat-Mon 5am - 5pm.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romeoville, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
