Senior Project Accountant / Accounting Manager

LHH has partnered with our client and we are seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in project-based construction and infrastructure services. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, gain exposure to large-scale construction projects, and play a key role in strengthening accounting operations during an exciting period of growth and transformation. The ideal candidate will have construction accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and a process improvement mindset. Key Responsibilities: Support all aspects of month-end and year-end close activities. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Manage project accounting activities, including job costing and project profitability analysis. Maintain and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and reporting. Monitor project costs, budgets, and revenue recognition. Assist with customer invoicing, billing processes, and collections support. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Construction accounting, project accounting, engineering, or contracting industry experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Advanced Excel skills, including reporting and data analysis. Experience working within ERP and project management systems. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
