Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level / DFM Support)

The Mechanical Engineer will support the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) team by evaluating, improving, and troubleshooting mechanical designs for production. This role focuses on interpreting 3D models and engineering drawings, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and resolving design and manufacturing issues in a production environment. Hands-on design work is limited, with greater emphasis on bridging design and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models (Creo preferred).
• Support design setup for new components and design improvements.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
• Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) support for prototype and pilot builds.
• Coordinate and complete on-engine fit-ups for new component designs.
• Analyze design changes and assess impact on production and quality.
• Respond to and resolve day-to-day manufacturing and production issues.
• Document build issues, fit-up results, and provide feedback to off-site design teams.
• Assist in evaluating customer design proposals, specifications, and feasibility (cost/time).

Required Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Basic understanding of 3D models and CAD tools (Creo preferred).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and create sketches.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required).
• 0–2 years of experience (entry-level candidates welcome).

Work Environment & Team:

• Works closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Supports production facility operations (Seguin, Texas).
• Focus on improving safety, quality, and production efficiency.

Additional Notes (Role Focus):

Primary focus is Design for Manufacturing (DFM) support, not heavy design work. Acts as a bridge between design and manufacturing teams. Requires strong ability to interpret drawings and 3D models rather than create them. Day-to-day responsibilities may vary based on production issues and priorities.
