Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
As a Forklift Operator, you will ensure that all units are properly banded and labeled with visible load tags when loaded. You will stage units in the warehouse and load/unload trailers safely and efficiently. You will also perform visual quality inspections on items, ensuring that units and truck counts are accurate and all paperwork is correct. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and accuracy of all items loaded and unloaded.
Responsibilities

• Ensure all units are banded properly and have a clear visible load tag.
• Stage units in the warehouse and load/unload trailers efficiently.
• Perform a visual quality inspection on items and verify truck counts.
• Ensure that all paperwork is accurate.
• Follow all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately.
• Complete online safety training each month as assigned.
• Maintain regular and exemplary attendance.
• Read the Wet End run schedule and prepare the correct rolls for coming paper grades.
• Drive and handle rolls safely according to company rules and training.
• Assist operators in peeling and prepping damaged rolls.
• Ensure butt rolls are properly prepped for return to the roll room.
• Clean and reorganize the warehouse to ensure a clean and safe work area.
• Unload trucks or railcars when required, following all paperwork and processes.

Essential Skills

• Experience with Clamp forklift, Reach truck, Stand up forklift, and RF scanner.
• Proficiency in loading trucks, LTL shipping, and inventory management.
• Ability to work flexible or extended hours.
• Ability to read the Wet End run schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
