Material Handler

RoleThe Material Handler will be responsible for the following job functions.The job duties herein describe essential functions of the position. Additionally, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the position. The individual should be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations.Essential FunctionsCoordinate efficient flow of materials and products throughout the manufacturing and assembly process.Responsible for movement of materials into production areas and work cells.Pull supermarket items based on the part number and quantity requirements.Manages stock replenishment for individual assembly cells.Retrieves and organizes totes, pallets, carts, baskets, cantilevers, etc., as required.Verifies inventory by comparing them to physical stock counts and investigates discrepancies, including demand counting.Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on size, turnover, and rack space entering the supermarket.Disposition orders and communicate any material shortages to Supervisor/Buyer/Planner.Perform related Syspro transactions.Participate in continuous improvement events.Read and interpret Job, Bill of Material (BOM).Stock raw materials and finished goods in an appropriate cell for quick and easy retrieval.Basic computer tasks involving performing material issue transactions in Syspro.Creating and maintaining reports in Excel.Maintain and verify records and forms and printouts to ensure inventory accuracy.Qualifications & RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDPrevious experience in a complex, high-mix, high-volume manufacturing shipping environmentAt least 1-year prior work experience using Syspro ERP software.At least 3 years prior work experience working in a material handling role.Skills, Abilities & Work StyleMS Office SuiteMust be detail-oriented and possess outstanding organizational skills.Must possess an understanding of document control.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Good communication at all levelsWork Environment & Physical DemandsThe work environment characteristics described here represent those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job is completed under some temperature variations and some hazardous conditions. The employee occasionally works near machinery fluids and material wastes. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may sometimes be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. Employees often encounter dust, dirt, grease, and paint on metal surfaces.Eye Exam: Ishihara Color Blindness & FAA Acuity Exam.The physical demands described here are representative of the requirements that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
