ABOUT THIS POSITION
Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, serves as the Statistical and Data Specialist for the Domestic and Sexual Violence Services Division (DSVS), providing statistical analysis and business intelligence support to DSVS programs, grants, and operations. Serves as a subject matter expert in clearly and accessibly communicating data to diverse audiences, data cleansing, statistics, Power BI dashboard development, data queries, and mathematical formulas used to evaluate program performance, operational efficiency, and community impact in support of the DSVS mission. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively translate complex data findings into accessible, compelling data insights tailored to audiences of varying technical ability, enabling stakeholders to understand key trends and make informed, data-driven decisions. They will cleanse data and develop Power BI dashboards, automated reports, and visualizations that convert complex DSVS program and grant data into clear, actionable insights for leadership, program staff, grant owners, and strategic planning. They will also provide analytical and technical support for DSVS grant and funder requirements including metric development, outcome tracking, data validation, and reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and the effective use of data to demonstrate program impact and strengthen evidence-based service delivery. This role supports DSVS data cleansing, preparation, statistical analysis and modeling, and the deployment, monitoring, and documentation of results; effectively communicating data insights to varied stakeholders. Also supports data integrity, consistency, and standardization across DSVS data systems. Key responsibilities include translating complex DSVS data into insights tailored for varied audiences; performing statistical analysis, data cleansing, and query development; maintaining dashboards and reports; supporting analytics projects; and collaborating with DSVS programs, staff, and the community to advance data-informed decision-making. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Communicates complex data findings in clear, concise, and audience appropriate ways, tailoring insights to the needs of leadership, program staff, grant partners, and other stakeholders. Performs comprehensive DSVS data cleansing, transformation, and quality assurance activities, including identifying errors, troubleshooting workflows, and resolving functional issues in systems and reports. Develops and maintains DSVS business intelligence dashboards, automated reports, and visualizations to translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership, program staff, grant owners, and external stakeholders. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and grant requirements by maintaining formulas, grant catalogs, and Power BI dashboards to support accurate, auditable reporting across the DSVS division and community wide. Participates in meetings, committees, and workgroups, serving as a co-lead for data-related initiatives. Contributes to process improvements, delivers presentations, and supports special projects aligned with divisional priorities. Provides DSVS division-wide data and statistical consultation, collaborating with leadership and program staff to coordinate data collection efforts, validate metrics, and recommend process and performance improvements. Develops and documents standardized data analysis and reporting procedures while strengthening data governance, quality monitoring, and outcomes aligned with strategic initiatives. Designs, validates, and maintains data queries, datasets, and reporting pipelines to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and reliability across DSVS operational, programmatic, and grant reporting systems.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in analytics, informatics, mathematics, survey design, statistics, data science, computer science, healthcare administration, or a related field; Plus two years of professional work experience in data research, quantitative analysis, statistics, data science or data analytics.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a Child Protective Services Registry check.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Data analysis experience creating dashboards/visualizations in Power BI. Experience speaking in public and presenting complex or technical data in clear, accessible ways tailored to varied audiences and stakeholders. Experience in using effective processes and techniques to analyze data and assess program performance. At least two years of experience effectively utilizing a variety of software and reporting solutions, such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Power BI, and ArcGIS to analyze and present data. Experience with processing and integrating complex data. Experience with identifying solutions for solving human service business problems and presenting solutions to staff and senior management. Experience working cooperatively and successfully with internal stakeholders, cross-functional groups, and community partners. Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
