The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of coffee beverages, maintaining equipment, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages to customers according to established recipes and standards. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and answering any questions about menu items. Operate equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and blenders, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness. Assist in managing the coffee bar inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and work area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Stay current on coffee trends, products, and techniques to provide informed recommendations to guests. Assist with the preparation of food items, such as pastries and light snacks, if applicable. Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and maintain a balanced cash drawer. Effectively communicate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction. Qualifications/Skills Prior experience as a Barista or in a coffee shop is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing methods. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proper communication skills to connect effectively with co-workers and guests. Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Essential Physical Functions Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Will frequently stand, walk, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data. Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors. Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic. Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy. Report to work in a complete required uniform. Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of the restaurant. Meet personal schedule requirements punctually. Be courteous, friendly and pleasant.
