Senior Project ManagerOrbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, multi-discipline projects while providing direct leadership, oversight, and development of a team of project managers. This position serves as a critical link between project execution and client engagement, ensuring consistent delivery performance while actively supporting business development and growth initiatives.The role requires strong technical and commercial acumen, with a focus on building client relationships, driving repeat business, and enhancing overall project delivery excellence. This is a hybrid role with a strong preference for candidates located in the Greater Hammond, IN Region. The position requires regular engagement with regional project teams and clients, including periodic travel to project sites and offices as needed to support successful project delivery and business development activities.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToProject & Portfolio LeadershipLead the successful execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectationsProvide oversight, direction, and escalation support to project managers across technical, operational, and commercial mattersMonitor portfolio performance using established metrics (e.g., earned value, margin performance, schedule adherence) and implement corrective actions as neededEnsure consistent application of project management processes, including risk management, change control, forecasting, and reportingDrive accountability for project financial performance, including revenue recognition, cost control, and margin improvementClient Engagement & Business DevelopmentServe as a senior client interface, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts across assigned marketsProactively identify additional opportunities within existing client engagements, including follow-on work, program expansion, and cross-service offeringsPartner with Operations leadership to support growth strategies within targeted regions and accountsLead or support proposal development efforts, including scope definition, execution approach, resource planning, and pricing strategiesParticipate in client meetings, site visits, and industry events to strengthen Orbital's market presence and brandProvide input on contract terms, risk positioning, and commercial strategy to ensure alignment with company objectivesDrive client satisfaction by ensuring project teams are responsive, proactive, and aligned with client expectationsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, establishing clear expectations and performance standardsConduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support career development planningPromote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the project management teamSupport onboarding and training initiatives to strengthen project delivery capabilities and consistencyOperational Excellence & GovernanceChampion standardized project management tools, methodologies, and PMO practices across the organizationDrive continuous improvement in project execution, including lessons learned, efficiency gains, and process enhancementsEnsure compliance with corporate quality standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworksCollaborate with engineering and functional leaders to optimize resource allocation and workload balancingOther DutiesPlease note that this job posting does not list all duties and responsibilities that are required of this job.
