Assess patients across the lifespan, utilizing standardized evaluations as well as observational methods to inform treatment.
Craft individualized treatment plans that encompass both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions that focus on communication, language development, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capabilities.
Engage in collaboration with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop unified care strategies.
Provide education and support to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond clinical sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, fostering a seamless continuum of care.
Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Continuously enhance your knowledge base by staying updated with advances in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based treatment strategies for various age groups, combined with a robust understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Ability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic contexts.
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
