This temporary position with the Department of Elder Affairs' Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program conducts routine access visits and investigates complaints about services in long-term care facilities. The ombudsman answers phones, documents complaints in a web-based system, travels to facilities to interview residents and staff, and identifies systemic problems affecting residents. The role requires becoming a certified ombudsman and operating a private vehicle for travel within the assigned service area. Key qualifications: Good organizational and communication skills, both oral and written Ability to conduct assessments, fact-finding interviews, and thorough investigations Knowledge of ombudsman investigations, rules, and investigative techniques Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and deal effectively with people Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows 2000 Valid Florida driver's license and ability to travel to facilities #J-18808-Ljbffr Civicworks
