Position: Travel-Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Eastern Idaho

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, 3 times per week

The ideal candidate must be available to start on or after October 26. This assignment lasts for 13 weeks and includes rotating weekend call every four weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in various surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
• Provide support in high-acuity situations, particularly with burn patients from the ICU.
• Participate in oral maxillofacial, ENT, gastroenterology, and general surgeries.
• Engage in gynecological, neurological, and orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Support robotic surgeries in gynecology, general surgery, and urology.
• Assist in trauma surgery and other critical care operations.
• Prepare surgical instruments and maintain sterile environments.

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Burn: Wound debridement, skin grafting, dressing changes
• Dental: Restoration procedures (cavities) and oral maxillofacial surgeries
• ENT: Tonsillectomy, parathyroidectomy, cochlear implants
• Gastroenterology: EGD, colonoscopy
• General Surgery: Various surgical interventions
• Gynecology: Ablations, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies
• Neurosurgery: Spinal fusions, discectomies, craniotomies
• Open Heart Surgery: CABG, femoropopliteal bypass, fistulas
• Ophthalmology: Vitrectomy, cataracts, corneal transplant
• Orthopedics: Trauma surgery, total joint replacements, sports medicine
• Plastic Surgery: Breast augmentation and reconstruction
• Psychiatry: Electroconvulsive therapy
• Trauma: Damage control resuscitative surgery
• Urology: Cystoscopies, TURB, TURP, stenting

Call Schedule:

On-call shifts will be arranged to fill evening/night staffing gaps from Monday to Thursday, with efforts made to ensure no more than 60 hours of combined work and call in a week.
