Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for an ongoing, full-time Urgent Care locum tenens opportunity across the San Antonio, Texas market.

If you've built your clinical foundation in the Emergency Department or high-volume Urgent Care but are ready for a different rhythm, this opportunity provides a way to keep practicing hands-on acute medicine while moving into an outpatient Urgent Care environment.

You'll continue evaluating acute illness and injury, caring for adults and children, performing common Urgent Care procedures, and making independent clinical decisions—but within an established multi-clinic San Antonio practice network .

This is a regional coverage role rather than a single-clinic assignment. Providers should be comfortable moving throughout the San Antonio market, with 7-, 8-, and 15-hour shift structures and an ongoing full-time coverage need.

For an experienced ER clinician, this provides an opportunity to maintain a broad acute-care skill set outside the hospital Emergency Department.

For an experienced Urgent Care clinician, it offers ongoing locums coverage across an extensive San Antonio clinic network rather than limiting practice to a single location.

Clinical Scope

Providers should be prepared to manage a full-spectrum Urgent Care population , including adult and pediatric patients beginning at 3 months of age.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses
• Evaluation and treatment of minor injuries
• Adult Urgent Care
• Pediatric Urgent Care
• Appropriate diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
• Full-scope Urgent Care procedures within provider competency
• Occupational health encounters as assigned
• Patient education and follow-up planning
• Referral or escalation when a higher level of care is appropriate
• Practice Velocity documentation

This is a hands-on clinical role for APPs comfortable with the breadth, pace and decision-making required in a full-scope Urgent Care environment .

Providers will float among participating clinics throughout the San Antonio region.

Rather than practicing within the same four walls every shift, providers become part of a regional coverage model spanning 16 clinic locations across the San Antonio market.

The right clinician should value variety and be comfortable adapting to different clinic teams and patient populations while maintaining the same core Urgent Care practice.

Schedule

Coverage needs include:

• 7-Hour Shifts
• 8-Hour Shifts
• 15-Hour Shifts
• Weekend rotation required
• Providers must be comfortable floating throughout the San Antonio clinic network
• Exact schedules are coordinated according to coverage needs

Multiple shift lengths provide different ways to structure full-time coverage within the regional practice.

Who We're Seeking

This is not an entry-level Urgent Care opportunity .

We're looking for experienced APPs capable of walking into an established Urgent Care environment and confidently managing the breadth of patients who come through the door.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Texas professional license
• Active Texas DEA
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience
• Comfortable treating pediatric patients 3 months and older
• Comfortable with full-spectrum Urgent Care
• Strong acute assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfortable performing common Urgent Care procedures
• Comfortable floating throughout the San Antonio clinic network
• Weekend availability
