Flexo Press Assistant, 2nd and 3rd shift

Press Operator Assistant The Press Assistant role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations. Responsibilities Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures. Attain and maintain all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes. Assist in the performance of all external make‑ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another). Assist in the performance of all external clean‑up activities following changeover. Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment. Strip plates from cylinders. Locate dies to and from the press. May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light. Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC. May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation. Maintain cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace. Work overtime when needed and as assigned. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Print shop experience helpful, but not required. Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player. Ability to read and understand a job ticket. Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test). Correctable vision to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test). Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test). Ability to input data into the computer. Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on‑time completion of assigned activities. Self‑motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions. Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time. Physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, and talking and hearing. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally, an employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Assertive and solution‑focused. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast‑paced environment. Benefits Compensation: $20.50 hr – $27.00 hr (dependent on experience) + $2.00 shift premium.
