Housekeeping StaffThe Spokane Club's Housekeeping staff are responsible for cleaning the overnight guest rooms, hallways, and various other areas of the Club's hotel. Additional cross training may be required in the laundry facility or janitorial department to assist, as needed.Daily cleaning of overnight hotel guest rooms including, but not limited to:Strips and remakes beds with fresh linenEmpties wastebaskets and installs new linersWipes all window sills, walls, baseboards, and light switchesVacuums rooms and hallwaysDusts all furniture and fixturesChecks lamps for burned out light bulbsWipes mirrors, windows, coffee machine, and refrigeratorChecks heating/air conditioning unit for proper operation and sets temperatureChanges mattress pads and blankets if neededRestocks stationary, refreshments, drink-ware, and other room amenitiesCleans and sanitizes bathroom including toilets, tiles, tub, shower walls and curtains, sink, and fixturesRestocks towels, wash cloths, soap, toilet paper, and other bathroom suppliesEnsures clean bathrobes, luggage rack, ironing board, and iron are available in each roomNotifies front desk team when guestrooms are clean and ready for saleDaily stocking of supply closets and housekeeping cartPossible cross-training with laundry and club attendant rolesOther duties as assignedCore competencies:Teamwork: Actively participates in achievement of team and Club goals for the good of the group.Communications: Consistently communicates in a clear and concise fashion.Responsibility: Takes ownership of risks and consequences of decisions and actions and shares successes with supporting team.Initiative: Seeks out opportunities that maximize professional growth and contribute to the Club's success.Results-oriented: Focuses on achievement of commitments and goals.Customer focus: Places customer's needs and viewpoint first.Benefits:Full-time employees and, optionally for additional cost, their families are able to enroll for coverage by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan after one year.Full-time employees will also accrue vacation based on hours work to a maximum of ten days per year and six paid holidays throughout the calendar year.Job RequirementsQualifications:One year experience in hotel housekeeping preferredHigh School diploma or GEDPositive attitude; attention to detail; takes pride and ownership in jobCustomer-service orientation to create an atmosphere of genuine care for members and guests and to provide a high level of personalized serviceAbility to think and act quickly, problem solve, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a helpful and poised demeanorProfessional appearance at all timesAbility to work flexible hours on-callPhysical demands:Manual dexterity and ability to operate heavy equipment such as commercial grade carpet shampoo equipmentClimb ladders and work several feet off the ground as in vacuuming tall draperyLift and transfer unbalanced weight up to 10 pounds (regularly), up to 25 pounds (frequently), and up to 80 pounds (occasionally)Bend, kneel, and reach overhead to move itemsSee at a close range for detail cleaningPush and pull equipment such as vacuum cleaners for extended periods of timeWork while standing and walking for most of shiftApply pressure while cleaning such as pumice stone toiletsMove heavy furniture, equipment, and suppliesAble to stand for approximately 90% of an 8 hour shiftUse hands to finger, handle, or feelRegularly required to reach with hands and armsWork environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
