In this role, you will oversee day-to-day field activities that support critical transportation projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong team coordination. This opportunity is ideal for a driven leader who combines technical expertise with a collaborative approach and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality survey data.What You'll Do:* Direct and lead field crew members through daily survey assignments, ensuring safe, efficient, and well‑coordinated field operations in alignment with safety protocols and quality assurance standards* Perform record research, construction stakeout, boundary, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys utilizing total stations, data collectors, and GPS* Review legal documents, plans, and project materials to accurately plan and execute surveying projects and task goal establishment* Create and verify field sketches and field computations related to traversing, map interpretation, and layoutWhat You Bring:* High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree and/or Bachelor's degree preferred* Minimum of 3 years of related experience required* Strong knowledge of surveying practices, field procedures, and industry standards* Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred; knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred* Strong leadership, communication, and team‑coordination skills with the ability to represent the firm professionally with clients and the broader public* Ability to lift and carry equipment over uneven terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions* Valid driver's license required with the ability to travel short-term* NSPS‑CST Level II certification preferred; LSIT preferredWhy You'll Love It Here:* Lead field efforts on a wide range of impactful transportation infrastructure projects* Work alongside talented surveyors, engineers, and project teams who value accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement* Grow your career in a supportive environment with opportunities to expand your technical skillset and leadership capabilitiesCurious how CHA's Survey Geospatial team is shaping mobility and infrastructure?
