*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room (OR) care to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, a passion for patient-centered care, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment. As a Registered Nurse OR, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing services, ensuring patient safety, and supporting surgical teams through all phases of operative procedures. Your role will be pivotal in delivering high-quality surgical care aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.
* Maintain sterile techniques and aseptic procedures throughout operative processes to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
* Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures, including handling instruments and managing intraoperative needs.
* Monitor vital signs, manage airway equipment, and respond promptly to any intraoperative complications or emergencies.
* Document all nursing interventions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
* Provide post-operative care including wound management, pain control, and patient education on recovery protocols.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up procedures.
* Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements such as NCQA standards and infection control protocols. *Qualifications* * Valid RN license with current registration; previous experience in an operating room setting is required.
* Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique, sterile processing, and surgical instrumentation handling.
* Critical care experience within hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and documentation standards relevant to perioperative care.
* Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
* Strong assessment skills with the ability to respond effectively during emergencies or acute pain management situations.
* Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory; additional certifications in trauma medicine or specialty areas are advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate seamlessly within surgical teams and provide compassionate patient care.
