Job Opportunity Job Location South Beach, FL Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a temp-to-hire position. Candidates must be willing to transition to a permanent role after the contract period. This position requires both front and back office responsibilities and candidates must have housing arranged prior to submission. Requirements
- Must have the ability to draw blood.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Medical Assistant (MA) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Experience working with healthcare providers is essential.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Must reside within 50 miles of the job location.
- Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
- Occasional extended hours on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
- Possible Saturday shifts from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
- Perform venipuncture and finger sticks for blood specimen collection.
- Identify patients using two unique identifiers and verify test orders prior to collection.
- Prepare collection sites using aseptic techniques.
- Label specimens accurately at the point of collection and ensure proper processing for transport or analysis.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate first aid or escalate as necessary.
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards during all procedures.
- Collect non-blood specimens (e.g., urine) as required.
- Experience with charting systems is preferred; training will be provided.
- Experience in customer service and front desk operations is advantageous.
