Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

NuWest Healthcare is seeking an experienced Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join a healthcare team and provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services. The CT Technologist will perform CT examinations, ensure patient safety and comfort, and produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized CT examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT procedures while providing clear instructions and maintaining patient comfort.
• Operate CT imaging equipment safely and effectively, adjusting technical factors to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
• Administer contrast media as appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Assess patients prior to procedures, including reviewing relevant medical history, allergies, and laboratory results when applicable.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to patient conditions or changes during procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record and imaging systems.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Follow radiation safety practices and infection prevention protocols.
• Perform quality-control procedures and identify equipment or image-quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
• Follow facility policies, regulatory requirements, and established CT protocols.

Qualifications:

• Current certification/registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT).
• ARRT certification in Radiography required; CT certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
• Current BLS certification.
• Recent CT experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging setting.
• Strong knowledge of CT procedures, radiation safety, and contrast administration.
• Excellent patient-care, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple patient needs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
