Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care for adult Med Surg patients, including post-surgical cases such as abdominal procedures, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and obesity-related surgical considerations
- Monitor clinical status, administer prescribed medications, manage IV pumps, and handle N/G and feeding tubes as needed
- Perform assessments, wound care, drainage management, and assist with discharge planning; collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other members of the care team
- Document accurately in EPIC EMR; communicate changes in patient condition to the care team; participate in care planning and handoffs
- Float to assigned units as required; uphold patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to evidence-based practice
- Educate patients and families on care plans, treatment options, and postoperative expectations; advocate for patient comfort and safety throughout the shift

Requirements
- Active New York RN license; Nursys verification required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience; travel experience required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- Ability to float to other units as needed and adapt to shift changes
