Diagnostic Specialist-MSSM

The Diagnostic Specialist-MSSM is a professional individual who supports quality patient care, performs routine examinations, assists physicians and registered nurses with daily clinical activity and performs standard diagnostic procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Plans and manages patient care according to each patient's needs.
2. Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition. Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
3. Provides routine care for patients.
4. Assists physicians and registered nurses.
5. Communicates with patients and their families.
6. Prepares specimens for lab courier.
7. Administers medications. Provides wound care. Prepares and administers injections.
8. Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately. Observes and records patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatment.

Requirements:

Education:

Completion of a New York State-approved training program in licensed practical nursing.

BLS certification

Experience:

1-2 years recent nursing experience

Licenses:

1. LPN

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,000.00 - $67,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
