Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment; training equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade is required. Possession of a P.O.S.T. category I or II certificate or an associate degree with the emphasis in law enforcement with a minor that would enhance the officer's social awareness is desired but not mandatory. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Utah driver's license required.Lateral Transfer Experience and Training GuidelinesMust be currently or within the last two years employed as a Peace Officer (Law Enforcement Officer) in Utah or another state; may have retired or resigned from a full-time SWORN L.E.O. position within the last two years.
