Foreman – Commercial Plumbing and Pipefitting

Job Description

This role oversees commercial new construction plumbing and pipefitting projects, with a strong focus on installing and hanging gas lines. The foreman coordinates daily field operations, ensures high-quality installation of piping systems, and supports a safe, efficient, and well-organized job site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day commercial new construction plumbing and pipefitting activities on site.

• Install, hang, and secure gas lines, including overhead gas piping, in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.

• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings to plan and execute plumbing and piping layouts.

• Install and assemble various piping materials, including PVC, cast iron, black pipe, and copper piping, ensuring proper alignment, support, and connections.

• Coordinate and perform installation of overhead piping systems, ensuring appropriate hangers, supports, and clearances.

• Collaborate with HVAC and mechanical trades to ensure integrated and efficient installation of related systems.

• Inspect completed work for quality, code compliance, and adherence to project requirements, making adjustments as needed.

• Organize materials, tools, and equipment on the job site to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area.

• Identify and communicate material needs, potential issues, and progress updates to appropriate site leadership.

• Promote and enforce safe work practices, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of commercial pipefitting or plumbing experience.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and mechanical drawings.

• Hands-on experience with installation of PVC piping systems.

• Hands-on experience with installation of cast iron piping systems.

• Experience working with gas pipe and black pipe, including hanging and securing overhead gas lines.

• Experience installing copper piping in commercial applications.

• Knowledge of commercial plumbing and mechanical installation practices and standards.

• Ability to install and work with overhead piping safely and efficiently.

• Familiarity with HVAC and mechanical system interfaces as they relate to piping and plumbing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

• Ability to plan work from blueprints and coordinate tasks to meet project timelines.

• Effective communication skills for collaborating with other trades and site personnel.

• Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a construction environment.

• Solid understanding of job site safety practices related to plumbing and pipefitting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
