Associate Director / Sr Manager, BioPharma Business Development (West / Central)

You will be responsible for accounts across the US West Coast and Central States. This role can be open to candidates outside of specific states listed, as long as you're in the territory of the role and have strong transport links. This role sits as part of our BioPharma Diagnostics Team. Learn more about SOPHiA DDM™ BioPharma Solutions here: Your mission As part of the BioPharma Business Development team, you will help drive new customer acquisition and strategic account development across biopharma partners. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to build pipeline momentum, convert opportunities into signed projects, and expand SOPHiA GENETICS' presence across priority accounts for our comprehensive range of solutions, including NGS-based genomic assays, Biomarker Discover, Clinical Trial Assays & CDx powered through the SOPHiA DDM Platform. The value you add Drive new business development across biopharma accounts in Europe and the US East Coast, with a strong focus on new customer acquisition Build and progress opportunities with large pharmaceutical and mid-sized biopharma organisations through active account engagement, proposal development, and commercial follow-through Lead discussions across precision medicine offerings, including pilot studies, commercial projects, and opportunities connected to companion diagnostics, deployment, and discovery-related work Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline in Salesforce, moving opportunities from early interest and information exchange through proposal, negotiation, and deal close Partner cross-functionally with scientific, commercial, and operational colleagues to shape customer solutions and support successful execution of signed engagements Travelling domestically and internationally to meet customers and attend events c 30% of the time Requirements To be best set for success, we see you bringing: 5+ years of professional experience in biopharma business development, sales, or highly commercial roles supporting biopharma customers Direct experience selling into, partnering with, or otherwise engaging pharmaceutical and mid-sized biopharma organisations Strong understanding of precision medicine, genomics, translational research, diagnostic applications, or related biopharma solution areas. Previous NGS or CDx sales experience extremely valuable. Proven ability to build pipeline, progress customer conversations, and convert opportunities into proposals and signed business Confidence operating in a customer-facing, externally focused role with a strong hunter mentality Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills across scientific and commercial audiences BSc, MSc, or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technical field Benefits You will be joining an organization with the patient at the heart of every decision and action, driven by purpose as we pursue exponential growth.
