Program Specialist & Marketing Coordinator of Elder Fraud Prevention & Financial Stability

About the Role San Diego Seniors Community Foundation (SDSCF) is the only community foundation in the United States exclusively dedicated to older adults. We're looking for a Program Specialist and Marketing Coordinator to help lead our Elder Fraud Prevention and Financial Stability initiative — a multi-market effort protecting older adults from financial exploitation, fraud, and abuse. This role sits at the intersection of program delivery, public-facing advocacy, and partnership building. You'll coordinate events, serve as a spokesperson on elder fraud issues, and cultivate relationships with law enforcement, financial institutions, and national partners — all in service of keeping seniors safe and financially secure. Reporting to the Director of Elder Fraud Prevention and Financial Stability, you'll work closely with the SDSCF team, volunteers, and community organizations across multiple markets. Frequent travel is a core part of this role — expect regular trips within California and to locations across the continental U.S. as our elder fraud programming expands into new markets. What You'll Do Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight Help shape vision and strategy for Elder Fraud Prevention and Financial Stability programming Create flyers and social media content to market events and outreach efforts Book venues, presenters, and community partners for events Ensure ADA compliance and coordinate interpreters as needed Track emerging elder fraud trends and translate them into scalable program strategies Drive strong attendance at workshops and resource fairs External Relations & Public Leadership Serve as a public-facing spokesperson on elder fraud and financial stability Represent SDSCF in media appearances, public forums, and stakeholder engagements Shape clear, impactful messaging on financial vulnerability and elder protection Partnership Development & Coalition Building Build cross-sector partnerships with nonprofits, financial institutions, government agencies, and community organizations Manage relationships with funders, stakeholders, and national partners Collaborate with the FBI, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies on prevention efforts Foster inclusive, culturally responsive engagement across diverse communities Grants, Compliance & Impact Reporting Support grant strategy, proposal development, and funder engagement Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements Track deliverables, budgets, and outcomes with finance and program teams Prepare high-quality reports for funders, government agencies, and the board What You Bring Required Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting older adults, including financial vulnerability and exploitation Experience leading or facilitating multi-site or national programs with measurable outcomes Willingness and ability to travel frequently within California and across the continental U.S. Proven ability to convene and coordinate multiple stakeholders, recruit volunteers, and drive event attendance Strong public speaking and presentation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to build systems and operational infrastructure Strong organizational and project management skills Preferred Experience working with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or national advocacy organizations Experience building cross-sector partnerships Media training or PR experience Knowledge of Medicare, Social Security, and related systems Bilingual or multilingual capabilities Social media management experience and proficiency in Canva Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or commensurate experience Gerontology degree or certification a plus Why SDSCF You'll join a mission-driven team dedicated to ensuring every senior has someone they can turn to and trust — doing work that directly protects older adults from financial harm and builds lasting community partnerships across California and beyond. #J-18808-Ljbffr San Diego Seniors Community Foundation
