Position Details

We are seeking a qualified nurse to join our Perinatal Float Pool. The role involves rotating among three specialized perinatal units in the system, providing essential care to a diverse patient population.

Shift

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Start dates are biweekly: 9/14 and 9/28

Scheduling Requirements

• Must be available to work one additional overtime shift every two weeks (total of 7 shifts based on unit needs).
• The manager will provide a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for any scheduling changes.

Unit Description

This position requires cross-training and rotation among the following units:

• Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Postpartum
• Hillcrest LDRP

Candidates must have a minimum of two years of combined experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum, demonstrating competency in both areas.

Vaccination Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
• Flu Vaccine: Required, with medical exemptions only

Job Qualifications

• Experience:
  
  
  • Minimum of 2 years in combined Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience is mandatory.
  • Previous charge experience preferred.
• Certifications:
  
  
  • ACLS
  • AWHONN Advanced
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Required Skills

• Administration of blood & blood products
• Assisting with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries
• Managing care for neonatal and postpartum patients
• Performing assessments and interventions for at-risk populations
• Floating between units and campuses as needed

Patient Demographics

The patient population includes:

• Neonates
• Adolescents
• Adults

Facility & Unit Overview

• Daily census: Variable
• Number of Beds: 29 across the perinatal units
• Specialties include care for high-risk OB patients, multiples, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and more.
• Supportive interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services

Additional Information

Candidates must be prepared to float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals based on unit needs and patient census.
