Urgent Care offers shift differentials for all shifts:

$2.00 per hour during regular business hours
$4.00 per hour after 5pm and weekends

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient this role youll work directly with patients assist with clinical procedures support care coordination and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

What Youll Do:

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories vital signs and health information.
• Assist providers with exams procedures testing and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

General Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:

• MA program and MA Externship;
• MA Internship;
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
• Paramedic program; or
• Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE :

MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship must have 2 years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
