Travel Labor and Delivery RN – Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Hours: 36 hours per week (12 hour day shifts) Employment Type: Travel Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: Registered Nurse Summary The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting. This role encompasses assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The position requires strong clinical skills in obstetrics, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC) Additional certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills English language proficiency for reading, writing, and communication Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical abilities – remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment Mental requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision occasionally, and maintain concentration on details Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Include Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short-term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer-a-friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
