Manager in Training (Part-Time)

Manager in Training Location: Lexington, Nebraska (Shoppes Of Lexington). Department: Operations. Hourly: $16.00 - $16.00. Reports To: Store Manager. Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties, ensuring that store policies and standards are upheld. This role requires knowledge of all product areas, proactive sales promotion, and leadership to support store goals and initiatives. The Manager in Training serves as an ambassador for Hibbett I City Gear, provides outstanding customer service, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence. Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. Consult with the Store Manager in establishing action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments when necessary. Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments. Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed. Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends. Assure quality customer service is maintained. Perform general administrative duties as needed and follow training for Store Manager responsibilities. Deliver extraordinary customer service as highlighted in the customer service manual, helping customers as they enter the store and during peak periods. Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear. Uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, and company memos. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures, and report potential fraud risk to management or appropriate officials. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws. Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work of employees; resolve work-related problems. Qualifications Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel. 1-3 years of customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits. Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked. Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
