Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical setting, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective recovery. Oversees patient assessments, care planning, and implementation while adhering to established standards and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients across all age groups.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interpret diagnostic tests accurately.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver coordinated, quality care.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, health management, and post-discharge care.
• Manage behavioral health and therapeutic communication with patients as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program with valid licensure in good standing in Alaska.
• Accepts new graduates with no prior experience required.
• Holds current BLS certification and non-violent crisis intervention training.
• Proficient in medical terminology, clinical procedures, and documentation.
• Demonstrates strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work flexible schedules and independently manage patient care needs.
