Eligibility, funding, program availability, and award amounts are determined by NC Early Years and may vary by county. What You’ll Do Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities Create engaging learning environments and functional learning centers Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress Maintain accurate classroom and child assessment recordsPartner with families through conferences, communication, and home visits Supervise children in classroom, outdoor, and meal settings Collaborate with Assistant Teachers, specialists, and support staff Support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP requirements Qualifications Teacher I- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school Teacher II- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited four-year college or university Experience working in preschool or early childhood settings Child Care Credentials I & II (EDU 119) required, or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain Strong communication and classroom management skills Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and staff Valid driver’s license required Physical Requirements Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
